Friends!

Pastor Mark Jeske

God invented an ingenious system for bringing fresh water to the plants and animals of this world. He uses the radiant heat of the sun to drive convection, moving water up through evaporation and down through rainfall. Brilliant!

He also created a personal resource convection system for believers. He pours out his gifts, energy, love, money, and talents on us to see what we’ll do with them. How delighted he is when we give offerings back to him. How delighted he is when we are as generous to others as he has first been to us. It inspires him to pour even more resources into our lives so we can be even more generous.

He loves it when we open our homes to others and spend time with them: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2) The Christian faith is always shared most effectively through personal relationships, and what better place to build those relationships than in the relaxed atmosphere of one’s home? There, people can feel safe, appreciated, and heard. There enough trust is built that they may decide to invite you into their home as well.

Our mission in life is not to hide in a bomb shelter, waiting out the chaos until judgment day. We’re medics, going out onto the battlefield to tend the wounded. They are the only things in our lives we take with us to heaven.
